Rescue Me ID: 17-06-14-00591Luna (female)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Luna, a stunning and lovely 5-6 year-old, 60 pound, female Aussie mix. This beautiful girl was adopted from Pal's Place rescue in 2015 but her adopter is relocating overseas and unfortunately, Luna cannot go along so she is being returned to our care. Luna likes long days at the dog parks/beach/hikes, giant knuckle bones, beef jerky treats cuddles/or naps on rainy days, having her ears scratched, and chasing other dogs at the dog park. She knows these commands: potty/poop, sit, stay, come, off, heel and has also had some agility training. Luna's current caretaker works full time and her home routine at the moment includes a long ... (Read More)30-minute walk in the AM, breakfast and then one more trip outside after breakfast, she is still used to being crated during the day when left alone. A dog walker comes 3 days/week and she typically goes to day care the other 2 days of the work week. She loves children and is definitely curious of babies or small children. Luna gets along well with other dogs, but she can be a bit exuberant and can sometimes overwhelm dogs much smaller than she is but she loves to wrestle and play with dogs of a similar energy. Luna has exhibited some separation anxiety but she does well once she settles into a routine and her exercise needs are met. She is not currently living in a home with another dog, but we think placing her into a home with another dog will really help minimize her separation anxiety. Like most dogs of her breed, she is active and intelligent and is happiest when she has lots of mental and physical stimulation. She'll be an excellent jogging or hiking companion, agility dog, or companion for an existing canine. Luna is currently in a foster home and can be seen by appointment once an application has been completed. For more information or for an application, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com 'ۢ Luna's adoption donation is $275. Animal ID: Rex  (male)

German Shepherd    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hello there! My name is Rex and I am a purebred, AKC registered 8-year-old German Shepherd. It is unfortunate that I have come to this part in my life and I must part ways with my human. He had to move but most places he found only allowed my small dogs or no pets at all. Ugh. I hate those stupid rules. Let me start by telling the story when I first met my human. I was just 8 weeks old. I was visited by my human alongside my litter mates. I was happy and enjoying play time with them. When suddenly I was called by him. I immediately turned around and greeted him. I then went back to playing. Then he called again. That's when I knew I had to ... (Read More)go home with him. He thought he picked me from everyone else but in reality, it was me that decided to go with him. Throughout my 8 years (I just turned 8 on April 30) of being with my human, I have enjoyed the time I spent with him. He would take me camping, the lake, to work, long car rides, long walks and to visit his human friends. I love making new friends with both humans and other canines. I like structure and routine. That is how I learned my basic manners. I'd like to say that I'm trilingual as I know a few different commands in three languages. Though, I can still improve on my German and Spanish commands. I understand English best. My human thought he could pronounce German words well enough for me to understand but I let it slide. Hehe.I also know some sign language. I understand: - Sit (sitzen) (sientate) - down (platz) (bajo) - no (nein) - paw (mano) - eat (come) - water (agua) - speak - quiet - up / up with hands on chest - eat (come) - crate - go to sleep / go to bed - potty, hurry potty - back - off - leave it (deja) - drop it - come (ven) - inside - here I can use some repetitive training with positive reinforcement to stay keen with the commands. Please, oh please use shredded cheddar as a treat. Yum! Also, I can always learn new things just be patient and consistent and we'll find ourselves on the same page sooner than you think. While my human is working, I usually spend my time lounging around the house. Although I have the place to myself I always respect my home. I do not make messes or have accidents in the house and will wait patiently for my humans' return. Well, I could keep going on and on but I'll wrap it up here so you can stop reading this and head over to meet me! I'll be your best friend and I will enjoy going anywhere with you, just spending time with you will make me happiest. Please, let's start a new journey together I am anxious to meet my new family! I am currently living in a foster home in Chicago. Please email palsplace1@homtail.com to request an adoption application and to set up a time to meet me! My adoption donation to the rescue is $275. This helps to cover any medical expenses during my time with the rescue and helps them rescue other dogs in need like myself I've just had a check-up, all of my vaccines and a heartworm and fecal test. I've got a clean bill of health! 'ۢRex's adoption donation is $275. This donation helps to cover his neuter, initial vaccines, initial worming, and microchip. Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Bogger is a very handsome, gentle and mild-mannered senior Lab mix in need of a loving forever home. He can be a little timid in new places and with new people but warms up quickly. He was originally rescued from an overburdened animal control facility in Kentucky. We here at Pal's Place have a soft spot for seniors and we couldn't bear the thought of letting this sweet boy spend his last days alone in a cold concrete kennel. We brought him up to our rescue in Chicago and now he's in a loving and nurturing foster home but he'd love to meet his forever family soon. This older gentleman wants nothing more than some gentle pats on the head and ... (Read More)a nice soft bed to snuggle on.
