This handsome dude is all legs and still has quite a bit of growing to do! Storm was turned into an overburdened pound in KY when his owner's situation changed and they could no longer care for him. Storm loves people and other dogs and is truly a gentle giant. Despite his imposing, size he's actually a bit of a scaredy cat and looks to his humans for protection ... (Read More)if something startles him! He will make a phenomenal companion for almost any home with the time, space and resources to provide for an extra large dog. Rescue Me ID: 17-12-07-00017Huckleberry (female)

Pug Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Mange (Demodectic)

Pal's Place would love to introduce you to Huckleberry, one delightful, kind-hearted, snaggletoothed pup in need of a loving home! This unique and charming fellow was rescued from an animal control facility in KY. He had come in as part of a hoarding case. Pal's Place saw his handsome mug and knew we had to help him! Huckleberry looks a little rough in his photos, but he is gaining weight and looking better every day! Huckleberry was also diagnosed with Demodex. A non-contagious skin condition that is actually quite common in young dogs, especially ones rescued from stressful situations like Huck was. Fortunately, dogs generally recover from ... (Read More)demodex easily and Huckleberry is already looking better since his treatment. Now it's just a matter of time before his skin clears up and his coat comes back in full. He is estimated to be around 10 months old and is just about 30 pounds. We are not expecting him to grow too much larger, so he'll be a great medium size.We really have no idea what breeds make up his heritage, but with his endearing underbite and round head, we think there might be some Pug in him. We don't know what breeds are in his background, but we do know he is 1000 % adorable! Despite not having the best start in life, Huck has a great attitude! He is very affectionate and sweet and loves cuddles and kisses! He's quiet and mild-mannered and is thriving in his foster home. He is crate train and doing excellent with his house training when kept on a consistent schedule. Huck also does well with other dogs. Huckleberry is wishing for a forever home for the holidays. Could it be yours!? He is currently being cared for in a foster home in Chicago can be seen by appointment once an application has been received and approved. For an application or for more information please email palsplace1@hotmail.com 'ۢHuckleberry's adoption donation is $275. Rescue Me ID: 17-12-05-00229Zoe (female)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Male Dogs Only, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Zoe is a sweet, somewhat bashful and very loving 3-4 year-old, 70 pound, female Husky/German Shepherd mix in need of a loving home. Beautiful Zoe was adopted from Pal's Place just over 2 years ago. Unfortunately, her adopters are separating and moving across country and neither can bring Zoe along on the move so she has come back to us for placement. Like many Huskies, she can be aloof when first meeting people, but she warms up quickly. Once she bonds with her people, she's extremely loyal and loves to cuddle. She has also lived with children and done well with them, so we think she'll make a great family pet. Zoe has attended a 16 week ... (Read More)obedience class with her previous adopters and knows many commands, but true to her Husky heritage, she is not always eager to show off her talents and often needs a nice bribe to perform :) She is crate trained, housebroken, and well behaved in the home. She'll make a great dog for a household looking for a fun-loving and active dog, but who may not have the time to train a young puppy. Zoe has also lived with a male Husky and she did well with him, but she is an alpha female with other dogs. For this reason, we will not place her into a home with another female dog. She's grateful for any amount of love and attention shown to her and will make a loyal and loving companion for one lucky home. Zoe is in a foster home in Chicago and can be seen by appointment once an application has been received and approved. For an application or for more information please email palsplace1@hotmail.com 'ۢZoe's adoption donation is $275. Rescue Me ID: 17-11-04-00004Sweet Pea (female)

Yorkie    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Most Cats
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

**PLEASE READ BEFORE INQUIRING. WE WILL NOT SEPARATE SWEET PEA AND KYMBA. THEY MUST BE ADOPTED TOGETHER. THEY ARE SENIORS AND THEY WILL MOST LIKELY NEVER BE FULLY HOUSEBROKEN** We receive multiple inquiries a day asking to adopt one or the other and from people looking for puppies/young dogs. Senior dogs need frequent potty breaks and medical costs/care often rises with age. Please take this into consideration when considering them. Please fully read their bio before requesting an application**Pal's Place would love to introduce you to two very sweet and special little senior ladies in need of a loving retirement home. Kymba and Sweet Pea ... (Read More)are a bonded pair of Yorkies that have found themselves in need of a new family in their golden years. Kymba is 12 years old and Sweet Pea is 15.5 years old. Both girls weigh in around 8 pounds. They were the treasured and much-loved companions of an elderly gentleman. The dogs were originally owned by his daughter along with two other Yorkies. Tragically, his daughter passed away and he took in and cared for her dogs after her sudden passing several years ago. The four dogs quickly became his babies and helped him tremendously to cope with the loss of his daughter. The gentleman was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and could no longer live on his own and had to enter a nursing home. The facility he entered allowed him to bring two of his companions along, but not all four. Having no other family members to care for the two dogs that could not come along, he had to make the heart-wrenching decision to surrender Kymba and Sweet Pea to a shelter. We heard their story and could not say no to these precious angels. The girls are now in a foster home in Chicago and they were love to have their own family again soon. They are two of the sweetest, most mild mannered little dogs you could ever hope to meet. They are very friendly with strangers and are not very yappy or high strung. They love to cuddle on the couch and are happy just to have a soft, warm place to sleep. The girls get along very well with other dogs of all sizes as well. Their original owner (the daughter) thought it would easiest to keep diapers on the dogs all the time rather than housebreak them when they were younger, so they are not fully housebroken. They will use puppy pads if left in a smaller area with the pads (within eye sight) and are still used to wearing diapers. Their foster mom uses diapers on them overnight and puppy pads during the day and she's also working on getting them partially housebroken and they are picking up the routine quickly! These little girls will make a lovely addition to a home that appreciates and loves senior dogs! They are very healthy for the age and are up to date with vaccines. Both girls have also had senior blood panels done and dentals and are now ready for their new home. The adoption donation for the pair is $150. These girls are very attached and we will only consider homes that will adopt them together. For more info or for an application, please email Palsplace1@hotmail.com. They are in a foster home and can be seen by appointment once an application has been received and approved. 'ۢThe adoption donation for the pair adoption donation is $150.
